Alvaro Vasquez Palacios

During my time at Allmatic, I was involved in various development and engineering tasks. My work included the development of algorithms for improved force measurement as well as the design and testing of printed circuit boards (PCBs). In addition, I designed and programmed embedded software solutions and provided technical support for demanding projects. Among other responsibilities, I worked on the automatic high-pressure clamping system within the AutoClamp project and designed control boards for the RoboBuddy project. I also carried out analyses of component deformations using FEM software to optimize designs.

As an Automation Engineer (MCR – Measurement, Control and Regulation Technology) at BBS Automation, I specialize in integrating industrial image processing and intelligent automation into large-scale production systems. My responsibilities include testing and selecting optimal machine vision technologies for industrial applications, conducting Measurement System Analyses (MSA) during commissioning, and developing vision-based solutions for assembly and quality control projects using technologies from Keyence, SensoPart, and Cognex.

In addition to classical image processing, I have integrated Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms into industrial environments, including embedded vision solutions optimized with NVIDIA Jetson and CUDA. My work bridges the gap between hardware and software: from designing and deploying fast, robust embedded applications to collaborating with PLC and robotics teams. I have experience working with Siemens TIA Portal and KUKA KRL, not as the main programmer but in close cooperation, ensuring requirements are well-communicated, solutions are validated, and software meets project standards.

This combination of hands-on engineering and cross-disciplinary collaboration enables me to deliver advanced, reliable automation solutions that connect machine vision, machine learning, and industrial control.
