Amin Bouzaiene

🔬 Chemical Engineer | PhD Candidate | CERN x EPFL Collaboration | Gas Separation | Process Engineering

Hi, I’m Amin Bouzaiene, a passionate Chemical Engineer currently working at CERN and pursuing a PhD in collaboration with EPFL. My work sits at the intersection of advanced gas separation technologies, process design, and sustainability. I specialize in the development, simulation, and optimization of recovery systems for rare gases—with a particular focus on reducing emissions and improving process efficiency.

With hands-on experience in process simulation (Aspen Plus/Dynamics), P&ID design, and GC analysis, I bring a complete understanding of both experimental and modeling aspects of chemical processes. I’ve successfully designed and implemented systems that have saved costs and significantly lowered environmental impact (e.g., reducing SF6 emissions by over 1200 tons of CO₂-equivalent per year).

Currently, I’m involved in a cutting-edge research project that combines membrane separation and adsorption technologies to recover fluorinated gases at ultra-trace concentrations. This work is part of my doctoral studies in chemical engineering, aiming to push forward the frontiers of sustainable process development.
