Support the work of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) on developing the National Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance (NTSF) in light of the EU-Moldova Association agenda.

Conduct three streams of activities for key public and private stakeholders : advisory on the Sustainable Finance roadmap in light of the EU Green deal package (regulations, delegated acts, regulatory technical standards), support and help prepare the on-site consultations with members of the SF Working Group (8 ministries such as the ministry of Energy and the ministry of infrastructure & housing, central bank and stock market authorities, private financial entities), writing of the Moldovan version of the EU Taxonomy.

Refining the National ESG Reporting Implementation Roadmap designed in 2024 and help prepare capacity building seminars for private and public stakeholders targeting MSMEs.

Green Bonds Framework Gap analysis

This followed initiatives from the Columbo Stock Exchange and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in partnership with IFC to implement the National Climate Change Strategy.

Extensive gap analysis and consistency checks of all the regulations and international standards: national Taxonomy, selected Green Bonds guidelines, EU GB and Climate acts, the EU-China common ground taxonomy, ICMA and IFC guidelines for blue and green Economy.

Practical advisory about the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) for the Central Bank of Egypt.

- Research and desk review: technical screening criteria related to Greenhouse Gas Emissions for the Egyptian industrial sectors at risk of carbon leakage, such as Fertilisers, Steel industries. Functioning of the EU Carbon Emission Trading System (EU-ETS). Carbon Border Tax Calculations.

- Consultation meetings with state-owned partnered banks (NBE, Misr...): explaining GHG thresholds, free credit allowances, minimum standards.

- Workshop/Closing meeting with the Central Bank of Egypt / Sustainable Finance team.
