I lead the engineering effort at CentralApp and my primary focus is on implementing & maintaining the backend infrastructure and services that power CentralApp. Haskell is the language, and Nix the build system, of choice for writing and publishing our services.

I'm leading the backend development and infrastructure effort at CentralApp. We are using:

- Scala with Play Framework to power core services

- Amazon S3 for storage

- A wide array of containerised services as middleware

- Docker to package services

- Marathon for lifecycle and deployments

- Mesos-DNS for service discovery

- AWS Lambda to power event based computation

- Mesosphere running on CoreOS nodes as foundational infrastructure

- MySQL as main data store My chief role is that of a Scala developer and I work on the core services that power CentralApp. I also manage the dev-ops effort at CentralApp, along with waking up at 3am in case something fails. I'm also the office Cookie Monster.

I'm leading the CentralApp development where we're working on a series of Scala based microservices using Play Framework, MySQL, ElasticSearch & Redis.
