Reporting to the Head of Finance and CFO, assist in the monthly preparation and consolidation of management accounts from multiple African-based BU's and the provision of accurate and timeous analysis. Providing of guidance and support to the Head of Finance in interpreting and analysing financial and business issues in order to drive operating performance, deliver on business initiatives and enhance growth and profitability, while ensuring compliance to accounting principles and corporate governance. Active management of the funding and liquidity of the business, including establishing and maintaining relations with banks and other institutional investors, actively managing the liquidity of the businesses and providing solutions. Other tasks carried out are as follows:

o Overview of accounting of French speaking countries namely, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, DRC and Congo

o Act as director of Mauritian based subsidiaries

o Recommend changes in office practices and procedures to improve processes to accommodate the growth of the Group

o Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage the day to day transactional processing and management of the bank accounts

o Prepare and submit tax returns, payroll contributions and statutory filings with local authorities such as registrar and MRA for all Mauritian companies

o Payroll processing for all employees based in Mauritius and directors of the subsidiaries within Africa

o Assist statutory auditors during the annual review

Other Achievements:

o Employee of the year 2020 (Mauritius)

o Mission to Kenya to replace the country accountant on leave for 3 months

o Active participation during the Group Finance Conference held in Johannesburg in May 2022

Responsible to lead the team for providing all accounting, tax, cash management and other finance related services to its clients and various reporting with the authorities including audited financial statements. Clients comprised foreign individuals/entities which have set up structures in Mauritius for various types of business activities, inter-alia, investment holding, global trading, IT services, investment advisory and trusts some of which were licenced by the Financial Services Commision.

Accounting and Tax Duties & Achievements:

• Knowledge and expertise in performing the following accounting duties:

◦ Preparation of monthly, quarterly or yearly management accounts along with schedules

◦ Preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS

◦ Tax computations and several types of filings including annual returns

◦ NAV computations and investor reporting

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with strong knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts

• Detail-oriented problem solver acknowledged by senior management for performing tasks with precision and accuracy

• Maintaining proper books of accounts on the relevant accounting system

• Filing of statutory accounts and returns with local and foreign authorities, including updating information on relevant systems

• Preparation of reports for survey

• Daily liaison with clients, auditors and other parties

• Monitor and review of work completed by junior staff and provide adequate guidance or training whenever the need arises
